Anderson Siva's manager Ed Soares spoke to MMAJunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com/) about Chael Sonnen (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/Chael-Sonnen)'s unusual (but quite expected) outburst at his client during UFC 136 (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/UFC-136) post-fight interview. Soares was sitting next to Anderson Silva (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/Anderson-Silva) when Chael Sonnen (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/Chael-Sonnen) announced that "The Spider" absolutely sucks, and called out the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion for a rematch on Superbowl weekend in February.
But according to Soares, Chael Sonnen (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/Chael-Sonnen) has to be put in jail, rather than fighting for the UFC Middleweight title:
“First the guy gets in trouble for fraud, then he tests positive for steroids, and now he wants to kick in someone’s door and slap their wife in the ass? This guy should be in jail; he shouldn’t be fighting. Chael is not the person that’s going to determine when [Silva] is going to take the fight. When he’s going to take this fight is when his shoulder is completely healed up, and he’s ready to start his training camp for the fight.
It’s not because Chael says he wants to fight in February. Who is Chael to determine that? Chael needs to take a number and wait his turn. He got his opportunity, and he tapped. It’s not the first time he’s tapped, and I guarantee you it won’t be the last.”
The only fighter currently in position to "steal" the title shot away from Chael Sonnen (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/Chael-Sonnen) is Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort, who impressively TKO'd Yoshihiro Akiyama (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/Yoshihiro-Akiyama) at UFC 133 (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/UFC-133). Sonnen was already scheduled for a rematch with Anderson Silva (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/Anderson-Silva), but was forced into sidelines due to a famously failed drug test. UFC are yet to announce the identity of Anderson Silva (http://lowkick.blitzcorner.com/tags/UFC/Anderson-Silva)'s next opponent inside the Octagon.
